People have used olive presses since Greeks first began pressing olives over 5000 years ago.Extant Roman era olive presses survive to the present time, with a notable collection present at Volubilis in Morocco. An olive press works by applying pressure to olive paste to separate the liquid oil and vegetation water from the solid material. The oil and vegetation water are then separated by standard decantation. This basic method is still widely used today, and its still a valid way of producing high quality olive oil if adequate precautions are taken. First the olives are ground into an olive paste using large millstones. The olive paste generally stays under the stones for 30 to 40 minutes. This has three objectives: to guarantee that the olives are well ground to allow enough ti...

A unprecedented Middle East economic conference got underway in the Moroccan city of Casablance on Sunday (30/10) in what Israel sees as a symbolic end to its pariah status in the Arab world. The conference brings together 720 politicians from 60 countries, including many heads of government. More than 1,000 business leaders from around the world. The conference is something of a personal triumph for King Hassan, who is hosting the proceedings. Travel video about destination Morocco. Casablanca is the largest city in Morocco, has the most important harbour in North Africa and is gateway to the magic of the Orient. In the Koran it says: ‘And Allah’s Throne Was On The Water !’ Thus inspired, the Grand Mosque was built on Casablanca’s shoreline. This monumental building was designed to accommodate 105,000 believers and its tall minaret dominates the city’s skyline. More than twelve million people helped finance this ‘Eighth Wonder Of The World’ which involved 90 engineers and 30,000 craftsmen and artists. Lying northwards along the Atlantic coast, is Rabat, Morocco’s capital and home to its government and royal family. The King’s Palace, the Palais Royal, is a town in itself. Surrounded by walls and protected by royal guards, since 1...
A magnificent weeks' journey through this breathtaking north African country, Morocco. Our journey started in the blue city, Chefchaouen then to the bustling medina of Fez. After Fez, we spent a night in the Sahara Desert after a camel-back ride during sunset and ending our journey in the busy streets of Marrakech. Wished we spent more time in Morocco but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay while it lasted, especially the wonderful people, riads and scenery. Here I compiled a short video summarizing our journey. Enjoy watching, and set the video quality to 4K/2160p for your viewing pleasure. And one other thing, don't forget to like & subscribe for other travel videos in the future! Morocco is an amazing country with so much variety to explore, so many different gorgeous terrains. On the same day we rode camels out into the Sahara Desert to watch the sunrise, we also saw snow on top of rocky mountains, wild monkeys in a forest and a town that looked like it belonged in Switzerland. I went with the company Travel Talk on a guided tour called 'Essential Morocco' which visited some incredible places: Ait Ben Haddou (a Game of Thrones filming location!), Quarzazate, Merzauga, Fes, Rabat, Casablanca & back to where we started in Marrakech. https://www.traveltalktours.com/tour/essential-morocco/ Music: Sommar - Ehrling https://soundcloud.com/ehrling Thanks for watching ❤ follow me on instagram @jen.simms

Morocco is fulfulling our dreams about the Tales of One Thousand and One Nights even today. It is an exotic and romantic country with the thousand miracles or the Arab world; old cities, mosques, bazaars, natural beauties from palm tree gardens to sand dunes and from the frosty tops of the Atlas mountains to the beaches of Agadir. There are the oases in the Sahara, the colorful buildings of Marrakesh, the Anti-Atlas’s green valleys and the forts of the Foreign Legion. The royal cities are all wonderful: Casablanca, well known from the famous movie with the same title, the capital, Rabat, the ancient Fes, and the elegant cultural centre, Marrakesh. The Djemaa El Fna square has a unique atmosphere, where magicians, henna painters, acrobats, belly dancers, tale tellers from the Sahara, healer...

Marrakesh is possibly the most important of Morocco's four former imperial cities (cities that were built by Moroccan Berber empires). The region has been inhabited by Berber farmers since Neolithic times, but the actual city was founded in 1062 by Abu Bakr ibn Umar, chieftain and cousin of Almoravid king Yusuf ibn Tashfin.
